WHAT IF SURGERY ISN’T A BATTLE AGAINST YOUR BODY, BUT A DANCE WITH IT?

What if instead of fighting, fearing, or seeing your body as the enemy, you could dance through the experience with grace? Nine years ago, doctors told me I was BRCA1 positive with a triple-negative malignant lesion — a diagnosis they called “aggressive.” But rather than preparing for war, I chose to see it as transformative. At 3 AM in my bedroom, as I prepared for a “minor surgical procedure”, I created my own ritual of love over fear. Surgery became a dance, not a fight. Today, nearly a decade later, I live in cellular harmony — no battles required.

My story isn’t about surviving; it’s about transforming. I never adopted the language of combat, because I wasn’t fighting cancer — I was listening to my body’s wisdom. I danced with cellular changes, embraced them, and let them teach me. That’s why I don’t call myself a “survivor.” I’m proof that healing doesn’t have to mean winning a war. Instead, it can mean choosing peace, love, and alignment with your body. Nine years later, I thrive lesion-free not because I defeated something, but because I embraced it.

This is the philosophy behind Dance Through Surgery. Traditional approaches tell you to “battle” dis-ease and “fight” for survival, casting the body as enemy. My approach is different: I teach people to partner with their bodies, to transform through challenge, to thrive beyond diagnosis. When we stop resisting and begin embracing, healing accelerates. Surgery stops being a crisis and becomes a sacred moment of transformation. It’s not about fear. It’s about flow and love.

I know this because I lived it. I transformed through BRCA1 triple-negative cellular changes without fear, without war, without battle. I created a new paradigm of healing and became certified in Peggy Huddleston’s method, expanding it with my own non-violence approach. My work has helped others move from fighters to dancers, from seeing their bodies as enemies to embracing them as allies. And now, I invite you to join me — to step onto this path where love replaces fear, where surgery is a dance, and where miracles happen when we align with our bodies and our care team, seeing them as allies and partners in our AL!VENESS journey.

PRAISE FOR DANCE THROUGH SURGERY

“For several weeks before my surgery, Anne set about preparing me for the time on the ventilator, guiding me through meditations, visualizations, affirmations, and a reframing of the entire situation I found myself in.

The day of the surgery came. My entourage was with me. I was able to laugh and joke, provide my surgical team with my affirmation, and the next day, after 14 hours on the ventilator, the last two of which I was awake for, completely calm, I knew that it was the work I had done with Anne that got me through this difficult time so successfully.

If I had not been connected to so many things after my surgery, I probably would’ve danced right out of bed!”

Thank you, Anne!

“I feel very fortunate to have found Anne and The Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster program.  Anne and the program allowed me to remain calm in the days leading up to my surgery, relaxed right before going into the operating room, and at peace during my weeks of recovery post-surgery.  Hearing the words in the mediation and seeing them come to life throughout this experience helped me achieve the best possible outcomes.  I am eternally grateful and hope anyone who has an upcoming surgery takes the opportunity to work with Anne to prepare for surgery and heal faster.

In good health,

-TANIA Z
